Fairmont Park Rose Garden

This lush park has a lot to offer. The huge playground has swings, slides, bridges and lots of other fun things. The surrounding grassy area is large with plenty of shade trees and picnic tables. In addition, tennis courts, basketball courts and horseshoe pits make this a place families can play all day. Take a very windy drive around the enormous lake, but watch out for the ducks -- they're everywhere! Don't forget your fishing pole, as you can stop almost anywhere to fish, including a small, horseshoe-shaped pier. A fishing permit is required. The Information Center is open on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and houses exhibits of local history and environmental projects.
