The actual Los Angeles city center is approximately 8 miles East or inland. Century City is one of the many office and business centers which was created in the sixties adjacent to the then famous 20th Century Fox Studios. The area consists of several high-rise buildings occupied by offices for lawyers and entertainment affiliated businesses. The consulate premises are on the 21st floor in an over thirty-year-old building, Century Park Plaza. The view is truly something to behold. A very impressive view from the consul general's room covers one of the private golf courses in the city, and Hollywood hills. Century City On a clear day you can see, besides the Hollywood sign, all the way in the East of the San Bernardino mountain range and its snow-capped peaks at wintertime. However, for much of the fall you will not be able to see other side of the street due the fog, or so called marine layer, and smog that make the visibility close to zero. Century CityThe consulate offices moved in 2001 to the functional, fittingly restored premises that were furnished with specially imported Finnish furniture. The light wood floors, modern grey and black furniture and modern Finnish art still impress the first time visitor.
