Leonard G. Westhoff Elementary School

Welcome to the 2013/2014 school year! We are proud to provide our students with an exemplary standards-based curriculum. We set high expectations for each student and are very proud of their accomplishments. In addition to our strong curricular program, Westhoff promotes positive character traits such as: kindness, self-control, empathy, tolerance, trustworthiness, responsibility, perseverance, honesty and respect.

Research shows that parent and family involvement play a significant role in determining children's intelligence, competence, and achievement. Therefore, it is imperative that schools and families work together to assure the success of each child.

This school year brings changes in the way curriculum is delivered to students. As we shift with California Core Standards this year's lessons will emphasize Critical Thinking, Communication, Creativity and Collaboration. As a school and district we will emphasize teaching strategies that serve our students in the Core Subjects, Technical Skills and Life/Career skills necessary for middle school and beyond.
