U.S. News提示 寒假回国？走之前你一定要确认四件事！

寒假将近，大战完final不少同学肯定打算回家过年。但是在确定行程之前，一定要再次确认考试时间还有租房的事宜。
Traveling outside the U.S. as an international student requires a knowledge of school policies and a visit to the international students office.
国际学生假期离开美国一定要清楚了解学校政策，顺便要去国际学生办公室问问相关事宜。
I had planned to go home for the summer even before I started school. I remember I was so worried about traveling and going back home during holidays as an international student that I didn't know how I would maintain my immigration status if I left the country.
I worried about paying bills while I was gone and whether I could go on vacation at all. Interestingly, after talking to several international students, I realized many of them shared the same concerns I had. Now that I have had these experiences, I would like to share a few things I learned when traveling back to my home country.
记得小编刚来美国的时候，放假回家心里还总是嘀咕呢，因为不是很清楚放假回家的身份问题，担心可不可以顺利再次入境，还有房租啊水电费啊电话费啊是不是按时交啊之类的。相信很多同学都和我有一样的担心，今天我就和大家分享一下我的经验。

1.去学生事务中心办好手续Visit your school's international student office:
It is so important to learn about all the travel rules at your college before you make any travel plans. Visit your international student counselor, explain your travel plan and ask for advice. He or she will be able to tell you when you can travel and what kind of documents you will need to travel.

Every international student has to visit the office at least once to get some documents signed before traveling to another country. Whenever you have doubts on anything related to your lawful status, ask your counselor.

第一点，在买机票确定行程之前，先去学校的国际学生办公室问问假期离开美国的注意事项。向顾问说明你的假期行程，时间安排是不是妥当，顾问会告诉你离境度假的时候需要注意什么，带哪些资料在身边。身为国际学生，我们要经常和国际学生办公室打交道，因为需要在I20上需要他们签字（travel signiture）。当然如果你有任何问题，都可以向学校的顾问询问。

2.随身携带重要的资料Bring your documents on your trip
I have had friends who forgot to bring certain forms back to the U.S. after they traveled home. That's not something you want to experience. These students had to go through some difficult issues to be able to come back.

Keep your documents like your passport and official forms with you all the time. Don't lose them on the plane or at home. Make a checklist of the things you need to bring with you going and coming back.

小编有很多同学放假离开美国去旅行，结果忘记带重要资料在身边，入境的时候遇到问题。你一定不想也这样。把护照丶I20还有学校官方资料随时带在身边很重要，也千万别丢了（我还真是操碎了心）！最好是手机上列个清单，随时提醒自己要带什么。

3.反复核对航班时间Check your flight date
I know it sounds ridiculous, but sometimes people will book flights to go home on the day of scheduled final exams and totally forget about the exams, which can greatly harm your grades.

In this case, you can either talk to your professors before to take the tests earlier, or just make sure not to book the flight on the day of your scheduled final exams.

我知道，这是老生常谈，甚至有点可笑。但是我周围就确实有同学瞪着双眼愣是把飞机时间弄错，买的机票错过考试时间，小测试间，注册时间，上课时间。。。这个会影响大家的成绩，一定要注意才行。如果不小心出错了，可以给教授发邮件商量这些问题，比如提前或者错后考试之类的。

4.别忘了交各类费用Pay bills and know your housing schedule
If you are traveling on holidays during the semester, you may want to make sure you have paid your bills like rent before traveling. This can avoid unnecessary worries and costs.

If you are going back home at the end of the semesters, you may want to check the move-out date of your apartment or dorm and plan your cleaning accordingly. It will usually happen around finals time － which means you have to clean and study at the same time.

咱们人虽然不在美国，但是大大小小的费用千万别忘了交。迟叫不仅会多交钱，没准还会影响信用，比如***。尤其是租房子，要看看合**子是到什么时候截止，到期的时候有什么规矩要注意，比如还钥匙，打扫房间之类的。这种事情经常发生在期末考试的的时间，虽然很烦，但是还是要面对（哭）。

We all miss home and would like to go back home once we are able to. It's normal to have concerns about your travel plans. Talk to your international student counselors and older international students! They will be able to help you plan your travel.
